AG.PAISIOS - THESSALONIKI

Departure from Larissa and from Agios Bessarionos Square at 07.30 for Souroti, which is located approximately 28 kilometers from Thessaloniki, not far from the main road connecting the city with the capital of Halkidiki, Polygyros. The Holy Monastery is dedicated to Saint John the Theologian and Saint Arsenios of Cappadocia. In the Monastery there are the Relics of Saint Arsenios of Cappadocia which are located in its catholicon as well as the tomb of Saint Paisios. Saint Paisios fell asleep on July 12, 1994 and was buried next to the church of Saint Arsenios. Since then, every year on July 11-12, on the anniversary of the Elder's repose, a vigil is held at the Holy Hermitage, with the participation of thousands of believers. Time for pilgrimage and departure for Thessaloniki, free time to use as you wish. In the afternoon at 18.00 departure, arrival in Larissa in the evening.

NOTE

Entry to the monastery is not allowed for women wearing pants, short skirts, sleeveless and backless tops. Women should wear a wide and long skirt, below the knee. The monastery does not provide skirts, scarves or anything else. Entry is also not allowed for men wearing shorts, short pants and sleeveless tops. The same applies to children.
