The Christoni Travel travel agency invites you to a unique excursion to the Xanthi Carnival and an unforgettable tour of Xanthi, Komotini, Kavala and Asprovalta from March 1 to 3, 2025.

Excursion program

First day Departure from Agios Vissarionas Square at 07:00 am with intermediate stops. Arrival in Xanthi, a city with a unique character and special cultural identity. We will have time to visit the bazaar with goods from Turkey, walk through the picturesque alleys of the old town, see the Folklore Museum, the old Clock and the Byzantine castle. We will have lunch in taverns in the area and then depart for Komotini. Check-in at the Demokritos Hotel and free time for sightseeing. In the evening, optional dinner at a local tavern. Overnight stay.

Second day After breakfast, tour of the old town of Komotini and stop for coffee and local products. Departure at 10:30 with a stop in Porto Lagos to visit the floating monastery of Agios Nikolaos, a sub-district of the Vatopedi Monastery. Then, we head to Xanthi to live the unique experience of the Xanthi Carnival. We will enjoy the grand parade with themed floats, impressive costumes and live music. At the end of the day, return to our hotel for rest. Overnight.

Third day After breakfast, departure for Kavala, a city with rich history and architecture. We will visit the Medieval castle, the traditional settlement of Panagia, the Imaret and the house of Mehmet Ali. We will have time for coffee and relaxation before continuing to Asprovalta, where we will celebrate Koulouma with Lenten delicacies in the fish taverns of the area. Return to Larissa full of beautiful experiences.
