Akathist Hymn – Holy Monastery of Saint Ephraim of Syros, Kontariotissa

A devout afternoon excursion focused on prayer and spiritual peace, to the Holy Monastery of Saint Ephraim of Syros, near Kontariotissa, Pieria. This is the only monastery in the world dedicated to Saint Ephraim of Syros, built in a privileged location with panoramic views of Mount Olympus, Pieria and the Thermaikos.

Departure from Larissa at 15.30 from Agios Bessarionos Square. Arrival at the monastery and time for pilgrimage and participation in the Akathist Hymn service. The monastery's catholicon, of Athonite architecture, is dedicated to Saint Ephraim and the Life-Giving Spring, while in the area there are chapels in honor of Saint Catherine and Saint Porphyrios, as well as an underground church dedicated to the Righteous Forerunner and Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene. Free time for a leisurely tour of the monastery's well-maintained grounds.

Then departure for Leptokarya, where there will be a stop of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for coffee or a walk. Return to Larissa in the evening.
